The tablet market is more lively than ever and these are the latest tendencies and rumors.


At the moment according to Engadget the best Android-based tablet is the Samsung Galaxy. The tablet is now number one enemy of the Apple iPad, which now holds 95% market share of the segment.

The tablet war, therefore, remains open, especially considering the other two products that reach the market soon: The BlackBerry and RIM playbook Slate 500 HP.

But to produce a comprehensive overview of the best is CNET, which indicates its Best Tablet Roundup, where at the first places is the iPad Wi-Fi, the second iPad 3G, 16 GB version, and third, to confirm Engadget, the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Then it comes the Dell Streak, which features a 5-inch display, although according to the latest rumors, it should be followed by other two models with screens between 7 and 10 inches.

Close in the rankings is the Archos 7, another Android-based tablet, which has an extremely affordable price to the public ($129).

Meanwhile there is a new competitor, the Toshiba Folio 100, with 10.1-inch display, NVIDIA Tegra processor 2, a 1.3 megapixel Android 2.2. aka Froyoin, sold at $399 in Wi-Fi version and $499 in the 3G version.

Not to mention the highly anticipated Asus Eee Pad, whose market launch is scheduled for May 2011. According to rumors, the first tablet of Asus will be a 10-inch screen running Gingerbread Android.

Next year we also expect the first tablet signed LG Electronics. Apparently the company wants to wait for the availability of Android 3 Honeycomb Gingerbread and then jump in. In addition, the tablet LG is working on will have a display with a 8.9-inch diagonal and equipped with two of NVIDIA Tegra platform.

Also based on Android, but with a dual boot system, is instead the Viewsonic Viewpad 100, which will cost around $490. Among the features, Intel Atom N455 processor at 1.66 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a 1.3 MP.
